The iPod touch 2nd generation is the 2nd generation of the iPod touch, released on the 9th of September 2008. It was the first iPod touch to feature the App Store out of the box. It was also the first to have External Volume Controls and it was the first iPod touch that you could plug a microphone into to record. It also has Bluetooth support, and Nike + iPod was built in to the device. It was discontinued in 2009.
